This corner of Kent offers some very attractive locations – from sea-side towns and villages through to beautiful rural areas in the heart of the garden of England.

Travel-wise, the area is very well served. To the north west, the A2/M2 and A20/M20 roads provide access to London by car with convenient rail links operating into London Victoria and London Charing Cross. The cathedral city of Canterbury and its attractive shops are within easy reach of the area.

Ashford International Rail station is approximately 23 miles* away and provides foot-passengers with a high-speed service into the heart of Paris whilst the L’Shuttle takes cars from Folkestone (9 miles* away) to Calais in under 40 minutes and a fast train from Dover Priory reaches London St Pancras in approximately 67 minutes.. With the extensive ferry services available from the Port of Dover and with Manston Airport nearby, continental travellers – whether for pleasure or business – have a multitude of options available to them.

The area is rich in history offering a wide range of attractions. Arrayed along the coast are the ancient “Cinque Ports” – from Rye to the South and onto to Sandwich in the North. In between lie sites and attractions representing every significant period of British history from Saxon times through to the Second World War – including England’s largest and most impressive castle at Dover.
